ABSTRAK
Perawatan pulpa vital merupakan terapi yang dilakukan agar pulpa dapat
melakukan perbaikan, penyembuhan, dan mempertahankan vitalitasnya melalui
penggunaan bahan yang dapat merangsang pembentukan dentin reparatif.
Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) [Ca3(PO4)2] merupakan bahan bioaktif potensial
dengan komponen calcium dan phosphate yang dibutuhkan dalam proses
perbaikan jaringan dentin. Saat ini, prototipe bahan pulp capping berbasis α-TCP
dengan metode pengerasan light cure dikembangkan agar dapat digunakan sebagai
bahan perlindungan pulpa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui
perbedaan nilai pH, calcium release, dan kadar phosphate pada prototipe bahan
pulp capping berbasis α-TCP dengan tgCaviliner LC. Penelitian dilakukan dengan
metode eksperimental murni dengan sampel uji prototipe bahan pulp capping
berbasis α-TCP dan sampel kontrol tgCaviliner LC. Sampel direndamkan dalam
10 ml deionized water dan dilakukan pengukuran pH dalam 8 waktu (1, 3, 24, 48,
72, 168, 336, dan 504 jam). Uji calcium release (AAS) dan kadar phosphate
(spektrofotometri) dilakukan dalam 4 waktu (1, 3, 72, dan 504 jam). Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan nilai pH prototipe bahan pulp capping berbasis α-TCP
6,72-7,97, calcium release 0,317-156 ppm, dan kadar phosphate 0,02-3,48 ppm
sedangkan tgCaviliner LC memiliki nilai pH 6,53-7,13, calcium release 0,20-0,42
ppm, dan kadar phosphate 0-2,57 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan
bahwa prototipe bahan pulp capping berbasis α-TCP memiliki nilai pH, calcium
release, dan kadar phosphate yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tgCaviliner
LC.

ABSTRACT
Vital pulp theraphy defined as treatment which aims to enhance pulp tissue to
repair, heal, thereby maintain its vitality through the use of materials that can
simulate reparative dentin formation. Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) [Ca3(PO4)2] is
a potential bioactive material contained calcium and phosphate that are needed in
dentinal bridge formation. Prototype of light activated pulp capping material with
α-TCP based has been developed to be used in clincal practice. The aim of this
study was to determine the difference of pH value, calcium release, and phosphate
levels between this prototype and tgCaviliner LC. Type of this research was true
experiments conducted with sampels using prototype and tgCaviliner LC. Sampels
were immersed in 10 ml deionized water and tested for pH in 1, 3, 24, 7, 168, 336,
504 hours. Calcium release tested with AAS and spectrophotometry for phosphate
levels in 1, 3, 72, and 504 hours. The result showed that pH value of prototype of
α-TCP based pulp capping material was 6,72-7,97, calcium release was 0,31-1,56
ppm, and phosphate levels was 0,02-3,48 ppm. tgCaviliner LC has pH value 6,53-
7,13, calcium release 0,20-0,42 ppm, and phosphate levels 0-2,57 ppm. Based on
these result, it concluded that prototype of α-TCP based pulp capping material has
a higher pH value, calcium release, and phosphate levels compared with
tgCaviliner LC.
