• Rafflesia is a flagship spcies" a symbol of rare flora of the world where their exixtence is threatened. From three national flowers, Rafflesia was chosen as "Puspa Langka" (rare flora) that represents Indonesian rarefloral diversity. At the International level, Rafflesia is the symbol of the "Flora Malesiana" that represents rare world flora of the Malayan region. Illustrations or other pictures of Rafflesia are also used for legal document like stamps, passport, currency, and more. Both at the national and international levels, these aspecs represent proof of appreciation towards Rafflesia as a world asset wich requires protection. This unique plant conceals mysteries that challenge scientists from both Indonesia and other countries to discover its hidden biological aspecsts.
