The research method adopted in this study is a qualitative method of &#13;
Semiotics analysis approach formulated by Charles Sanders Peirce. While &#13;
the goal in this study is three types of Batik Lasemcloth which loaded with &#13;
signs and meanings, as for the question is: Red Dragon motif, Lock &#13;
Chanmotif, and Oriental motif. The samples were taken by purposive &#13;
sampling. The data collection techniques are performed by means of &#13;
observation, literature studies and depth interviews. &#13;

Based on the results of research and discussion, the three types of &#13;
batik motifsare derived to the following conclusions: 1. leons in each Lasem &#13;
motif discussed in this study illustrate the typical pattern from Lasem. The &#13;
Red Dragon motif contained the dragon image, latah, truntum jlowers, &#13;
thedominance of red color, with white background. The Lock Chan motif &#13;
shows the image of a lock chan bird, serit, lotus flower, the dominance of &#13;
red, white cloth base. While the Oriental motifcontained the image of four &#13;
China's letter, lanterns, latohan, serif, iruntum flowers, and &#13;
isensupplementary such as ungker, three bars, three points. 2. Index of all &#13;
those three motifs in this discussion representsthe acculturation between &#13;
Chinese and Javanese. 3. Batik motif's symbol discussed in the research &#13;
&#13;
means luck or happiness, both in Red Dragon or Lock Chan motif, and so &#13;
&#13;
Oriental motif. &#13;
