  • Abstrak :
    Kehadiran perkebunan kelapa sawit dengan Pola PIR-Bun telah mempersempit kawasan hutan sebagai cadangan lahan perladangan, juga mengancam eksistensi petani ladang berpindah yang menganggap bahwa hutan sebagai basis utama dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Berbagai wujud tindakan muncul karena berladang sudah tidak leluasa, sehingga mendorong untuk melakukan perubahan sosial. Penelitian ini tentang persepsi orang Dayak Ribun terhadap proyek PIR-Bun kelapa sawit, perubahan sosial dalam struktur sosial, pola kehidupan, pola lapangan kerja, sistem hubungan kerja masyarakat peladang berpindah Dayak Ribun. Ditelaah pula berbagai bentuk konflik yang terjadi antara sesama penduduk dengan masyarakat pendatang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analitik, dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode deskriptif analitik digunakan untuk menggambarkan status kelompok manusia yang sedang berlangsung. Pendekatan kualitatif menekankan pada prosedur penelitian dengan menggunakan data kualitatif dengan kajian etnografi. Kajian etnografi untuk memahami kehidupan masyarakat berdasarkan sudut pandang dari masyarakat yang bersangkutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran perkebunan kelapa sawit berpengaruh terhadap perubahan pola pekerjaan, yang diikuti dengan peningkatan penghasilan masyarakat. Konsekwensi lain adalah berpengaruh terhadap pola hidup dan hubungan sosial yang ditandai dengan pergeseran berbagai irama kehidupan, perubahan pola interaksi sosial yang sederhana dan bercorak lokal berubah ke pola interaksi yang kompleks serta menembus batas perdesaan, bertambahnya penduduk sehingga berbagai pola kehidupan saling mempengaruhi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kehadiran perkebunan kelapa sawit telah memberikan kontribusi yang positif terhadap peningkatan sosial ekonomi masyarakat sekitarnya, ternyata berpengaruh terhadap perubahan sosial pada aspek status sosial, hubungan sosial, pola kehidupan masyarakat. Konflik sosial sebelum dan sesudah kehadiran perkebunan kelapa sawit sering terjadi, tetapi tidak sampai melibatkan agama dan suku, karena dapat diatasi mereka sendiri.

    Social Change of Shifting Cultivation Society: A Case Study of Dayak Ribun Society around PIR-Bun of Oil Palm Pusat Damai Parindu Sanggau West Kalimantan. The presence of the Oil Palm with the PIR-Bun pattern has made forest area as a reserve of cultivation area smaller, it also threatens the existence of the shifting cultivation society considering forest as the principal basis in fulfilling their live's need. Various of actions arise since growing restraints of the cultivation activities so that it motivates to do a social change. This research is about the Dayak Ribun's perception toward the PIR-Bun of Oil Palm project, social changes in social structure, in living pattern, in pattern of employment, and in reltion system of Dayak Ribun shifting cultivation. This research also studies various of conflict forms happening between the society itselves with the new people coming into the society. Method used is an analytical descriptive with qualitative approach. The method used to describe people's group status during that time. The qualitative approach stresses on the research procedure with the use of qualitative data with ethnographic study in character. The ethnographic study is used to understand the society's life based on the perspective of the society itself. The result this study shows that the presence of Oil Palm plantation influences toward the changes of employment pattern followed by a significant increase in the society incomes resulting in the living pattern and social relation marked with the various life rhyme's shift, in the change of simple and local social interaction pattern becoming into a complex and thorough out of border, and population density influencing the various pattern in social life. The conclusions are the presence of the Oil Palm plantation has given a positive contribution to the social and economic increase around the society, and it turned out that it influenced the social change in the aspects of social status, and social realtion, and the living social pattern as well. The social conflict, before and after of the presence of the Oil Palm plantation often happened, but it did not involve relgion and ethnic matters since the society itself is able to handle the conflicts emerge.
