  • Sexual violence on university campuses has serious negative impacts on students, yet not all
victims feel comfortable seeking formal help. Fellow students are often more trusted as
confidants, although they face barriers such as lack of skills, low confidence, and difficulties
managing psychological effects. This study aims to develop a psychoeducation program to help
students overcome these barriers, using an innovative and collaborative design thinking
approach. The group psychoeducation design was developed based on Social Learning Theory
and the Stress, Appraisal, and Coping framework. The design was tested on 10 UNPAD
students with backgrounds in psychology and nursing, selected through purposive sampling.
Evaluation was conducted using seven acceptability aspects from Sekhon and analyzed
thematically. Results indicate that the psychoeducation program helps overcome barriers by
strengthening perceived control, raising awareness and enhancing coping strategies related to
burden, encouraging thoughtful consideration in providing assistance and selecting formal
support for victims, improving knowledge and skills in psychological first aid, fostering
responsibility and proactivity in anticipating negative impacts, being effective for use, and
building confidence in the ability to help. This psychoeducation program has potential for
university implementation but should be preceded by screening and preventive measures to
manage physical and psychological effects on participants..
