or marriage. The number of victims exceeds that of perpetrators, with women predominantly
affected by emotional or sexual infidelity. Victims often experience significant negative impacts,
particularly emotional dysfunction, making psychological acceptance a crucial aspect in addressing
emotional denial caused by infidelity. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been
demonstrated to be effective in enhancing psychological acceptance and mitigating the effects of
infidelity on victims, including improving emotion regulation, mindset, distress tolerance, and self
control. An ACT protocol for marital infidelity has been developed in Indonesia. However, this
protocol has not been tested for feasibility or proven effective through randomized controlled trials
(RCTs). This study aims to culturally adapt the ACT protocol by considering its limitations and

context of romantic relationship infidelity. The cultural adaptation method used in this study consists

infidelity, and the development of ACT in Indonesia. Subsequently, eight adaptation dimensions
were developed. The local consultation stage involved three clinical psychologists, during which
several modifications were made to the protocol to tailor it to individuals affected by infidelity in
romantic relationships. The revised protocol was then evaluated by two experts quantitatively using
the Cultural Relevance Questionnaire (CRQ) and qualitatively through interviews guided by the
acceptability component framework. At the same time, the protocol was qualitatively evaluated by
three participants with high levels of experiential avoidance (AAQ-II scores, 22 -
